Fall Drop-In Schedule (September 8 to December 19, 2026)

Water is great for creating fun and safe but challenging workouts! Aquafit involves a mix of strength training, gentle stretches and upbeat cardio moves that are safe and effective in helping to condition the entire body. These classes are great for participants of all ages and abilities. Our 60-minute classes include 15 minutes of personal recovery time in our lap or training pool. Ages 14+

$5.00/person (30/45-minute classes) | $5.50/person (60-minute classes)

  • Sundays: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
  • Mondays: 9:30 am - 10:00 am, 10:00 am - 11:00 am, 11:00 am - 11:45 am, 7:15 pm - 8:00 pm
  • Tuesdays: 8:00 am - 9:00 am, 9:00 am - 9:45 am, 11:00 am - 11:45 am, 7:15 pm - 8:00 pm
  • Wednesdays: 9:30 am - 10:00 am, 10:00 am - 11:00 am, 11:00 am - 11:45 am, 7:15 pm - 8:00 pm
  • Thursdays: 8:00 am - 9:00 am, 9:00 am - 9:45 am, 11:00 am - 11:45 am, 7:15 pm - 8:00 pm
  • Fridays: 9:00 am - 9:45 am, 10:00 am - 11:00 am
  • Saturdays: 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Swimming has almost no impact, reducing stress on joints and increasing strength and flexibility with little or no muscle soreness. Join one of our 3 circle swim lanes for some lengths or our leisure lane for adult therapeutic use. Please choose the lane which best fits your abilities. If you find you are moving too fast or slow, please move to the appropriate lane. Swim in a circular fashion, always keeping to your right. Ages 14+

  • Thursday: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
  • Friday: 7:00 am - 8:30 am, 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Our Hydrorider Aquabikes are a truly unique piece of equipment. The resistance is determined by four paddle wheels that are adjustable as well as by increasing acceleration to provide great aquatic conditioning. Additional challenges can be met by a change in seat positions, intervals, or power pull techniques. Snug shorts and water shoes are recommended. Ages 14+

Our two shallow and warm pools are available for families to relax and enjoy the water!

Come splash with us! All pools are available, including the waterslide and rope swing for those who pass our swim test. Please review our Admission Policy prior to visiting.

Swim Free at the ERC

Looking for a fun, active, and completely free way to keep the family entertained? 

Borrow a 1 Week Splash Pass from the Essex, Harrow, or McGregor branches of the Essex County Library. This pass allows up to 5 people to enjoy a complimentary Leisure or Recreational Swim at the Essex Recreation Complex. Passes are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Town of Essex operates the Essex Recreation Complex (ERC) in partnership with the Greater Essex County District School Board. Located adjacent to Essex District High School, the ERC offers aquatic, recreation, and lifesaving programs in a modern multi-use facility.
