The Town of Essex proudly offers exceptional sporting venues and facilities that welcome athletes, teams, and visitors while supporting participation in sports at all levels.
Ice Sports
Essex Centre Sports Complex
The Essex Centre Sports Complex features two NHL-sized ice pads, making it an ideal venue for tournaments, leagues, and community events. The Libro Rink offers seating for 1,168 spectators, while the Shaheen Rink provides bleacher seating for 222 spectators, allowing the facility to host multiple games and events simultaneously. The complex also includes ten dressing rooms, three referee rooms, and three meeting rooms to support a wide range of sporting events and activities.
Harrow Arena
The Harrow and Colchester South Arena features one ice pad with seating for approximately 200 spectators. The facility includes six dressing rooms, one referee room, and two community rooms, making it well equipped to host a variety of ice sports, programs, and community events.
Outdoor Sports
Harrow Soccer Complex
The Harrow Soccer Complex features two senior-level fields, two intermediate-level fields, and two junior-level fields, making it an ideal venue for tournaments, leagues, and community play. Four sets of bleachers provide ample spectator seating near the senior fields, while the adjacent fieldhouse offers four dressing rooms and two referee rooms to support athletes, officials, and event operations.
Essex Soccer Fields
The Essex Soccer Fields feature two senior-level fields and two junior-level fields, providing a welcoming venue for leagues, tournaments, practices, and community play.
Harrow Fairgrounds
The Harrow Fairgrounds features six baseball and softball diamonds, including one lighted diamond, one diamond with spectator seating, and a premier fenced diamond complete with enclosed dugouts, designated bullpens, and a warning track. The facility is well equipped to host tournaments, leagues, and community baseball and softball events.
Essex Sports Park
The Essex Sports Park features three baseball and softball diamonds, including one lighted diamond with a boundary fence, warning track, and enclosed dugouts. The facility provides a versatile setting for leagues, tournaments, and community baseball and softball activities.
Indoor Sports
Essex Recreation Centre Gymnasium
The gymnasium features a stage and bleacher seating for up to 550 spectators. The court is lined for basketball and volleyball and can be divided into two separate courts when required, providing a versatile space for a variety of sporting events, programs, and community activities.
