The Town of Essex operates the Essex Recreation Complex (ERC) in partnership with the Greater Essex County District School Board. Located adjacent to Essex District High School, the ERC offers aquatic, recreation, and lifesaving programs in a modern multi-use facility. Facilities include: Gym A: A gymnatorium with a stage, seating for up to 725 people, six adjustable basketball nets, and access to a kitchenette with a concession-style serving window, refrigerator, stove, microwave, and freezer. Pool: Features a four-lane, 25-metre lap pool, leisure pool, 33-metre waterslide, Tarzan rope, and training pool. Accessible amenities include a submergible pool wheelchair and ramp access to the leisure pool. Male, female, and universal change rooms are available. All-Purpose Room: Accommodates up to 50 people and is equipped with an audio system, LCD television with Blu-ray player, computer input, and projector with screens.
