The Town of Essex rents ice pads, pools, sports fields, pavilions and picnic areas. We also offer a wide range of community and meeting rooms to suit a variety of occasions. From small meetings to large gatherings, we can accommodate your social and business needs.

If you are a promoter, vendor, organization or host of an event being held in or on facilities owned by the Town of Essex, contact the Director, Community Services at 519-776-7336 ext. 1109 to review the Special Events Requirements, or fill out the Special Events Application online. When you rent any facility or space, you will need liability insurance. This insurance covers any accidents or damage that might happen while you're using our property. Insurance costs are typically minimal, but they depend on several factors, including what’s happening during and the number of attendees at your rental.
There are two options for obtaining your insurance
We understand that every event is unique, so we've made it convenient for you to get the insurance you need. Getting insurance is quick and easy with our Facility User Liability Insurance Program. Use the online portal to create an account and get a quote or purchase insurance within minutes.

What are the facility rental rates?
Rental rates vary based on the specific facility, requested amenities, time of use, and expected attendance. To receive an accurate quote, please complete our Request a Facility Rental form, and a member of our team will contact you with detailed pricing information.
Alternatively, you may contact our department staff directly to inquire about rates. For ice pads, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, pavilions, or arena meeting rooms, please call Parks and Facilities at 519-776-7336 ext. 1301. For pools, community centres, gymnasiums, or community meeting rooms, please contact Recreation and Culture at 519-776-7336 ext. 1052.
Can I serve alcohol at my event?
Alcohol may be served at events in Town facilities provided you adhere to all terms under the Town of Essex's Alcohol Risk Management Policy. Facility staff will walk you through the process and requirements during the booking process.
What equipment is available for my rental?
Available amenities and equipment vary by location. Many of our facilities offer rental items—such as tables, chairs, and sports equipment—for an additional fee. For venues equipped with a kitchen or kitchenette, a selection of appliances and kitchenware may also be available. To confirm specific equipment availability for your event, please contact us at 519-776-7336 ext. 1052 when booking.
Are staff available to help during my rental?
Absolutely. Our dedicated facility staff will be on-site for the entire duration of your rental. They will be fully prepared to assist you and ensure your event runs seamlessly from start to finish.

The Corporation of the Town of Essex offers overnight parking in the parking lot of the Essex Centre Sports Complex located at 60 Fairview Avenue W. Essex, Ontario, the Harrow and Colchester South Community Centre, located at 243 McAffee Street in Harrow, Ontario and at the Colchester Harbour located at 100 Jackson Avenue, Harrow, Ontario.
