For all Town of Essex Skating programs the Town strongly recommends that all participants wear a helmet for their safety.
Public Skating
- Payment of fee must be paid to the skate monitors prior to accessing the ice.
- Admittance restricted to skating participants only (skates required on ice).
- Horseplay prohibited (fast skating, racing, tag, etc.) Have fun but respect others safety.
- Skate forward and in the same direction as other skaters for the safety of all participants.
- Skating with children in your arms is prohibited.
- Verbal and non-verbal profanity prohibited.
- Please treat the facility, staff, and patrons, as you would like to be treated.
- Skating aides (chairs, etc.) prohibited. Sticks and pucks are prohibited.
- Please report all accidents or concerns to arena staff immediately.
- Emergency phone and first aid are available.
- Please keep off the ice surface while the Olympia is resurfacing.
- Failure to adhere to these guidelines is reason for removal from the premises by staff.
Parents and Tots
- Please pay before going on ice.
- Boots and/or shoes are allowed for Parents and Tot skate ONLY.
- Chairs are prohibited- only certified skating aides permitted.
- Stick and pucks are prohibited (Our Top-Shelf Toddlers program allows these devises).
- All children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian on the ice with a limit of no morethan three children per parent/guardian.
Adult Skate
- Please pay before going on ice.
- Please refer to public skating guidelines for this program.
- Stick and pucks are prohibited (Our Adult Skills Skate program allows these devises).
Figure Skating Practice
- This program is for figure skaters ONLY.
- Please pay before going on ice.
- The fee is for the skater only.
