Water and Wastewater Rate Study

• Town of Essex Water Financial Plan (February 5, 2021)
  • In 2020, the Town of Essex retained Watson & Associates Economists Ltd. to prepare a water financial plan as part of the five submission requirements for the purposes of obtaining a municipal drinking water license as per the Safe Drinking Water Act, 2002. The detailed financial planning and forecasting regarding the Town’s water systems has already been completed based on the Town’s Water and Wastewater Rate Study (Rate Study). The objective of the report provided herein is to convert the details of the Rate Study into the prescribed reporting requirements for a financial plan as defined by Ontario Regulation 453/07 (O.Reg. 453/07) and project the financial position over a ten-year forecast period.
• Town of Essex Water and Wastewater Rate Study (June 12, 2024)
  • The Town of Essex retained Watson & Associates Economists Ltd. (Watson) to undertake a water and wastewater rate study. This study aims to update the analysis for current capital and operating forecasts, costing for lifecycle cost requirements, current volumes and customer profiles.
