Good Samaritan Award

Program Overview
The Town of Essex would like to acknowledge individuals for their public service acts within the community through the Good Samaritan Award program. The program allows individuals to nominate citizens who demonstrate thoughtful gestures or random acts of kindness that improve the community or assist another community member. Examples include assisting an individual with a disability, picking up trash from public spaces such as a park, or volunteering at a local organization.
Award
Five (5) award recipients will be selected by the Town of Essex. Recipients of the Good Samaritan Award will receive an official certificate signed by the mayor, as well as a $100 reward!
Eligibility
To be nominated for the Good Samaritan Award, the nominee must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Must be a current resident of the Town of Essex
- Must demonstrate a selfless act of kindness which positively impacts another individual or the community.
Nomination Period
Please submit your nominations by October 19, 2025.
How to Submit a Nomination
To nominate an individual for the Good Samaritan Award, please complete the online form before the closing date.
Winner Announcement will take place in Fall 2025. Only those selected for an award will be contacted.
