Town of Essex Relocates Development Services to Town Hall

The Town of Essex is advising residents and businesses that the Gesto Office will permanently close effective November 2, 2026, with all Development Services staff relocating to Essex Town Hall at 33 Talbot Street South.

The relocation includes staff from the Building, Planning and Economic Development departments, bringing these services together with other municipal departments to serve the public under one roof.

The move represents an important step in the Town's ongoing efforts to streamline municipal operations, improve collaboration between departments and enhance the delivery of services to residents, businesses and developers.

“Bringing our municipal departments together at Town Hall is an exciting milestone for the Town of Essex. By consolidating our teams in one location, we can strengthen collaboration, improve operational efficiencies and enhance the delivery of municipal services.” said Kate Giurissevich, CAO, Town of Essex. 

“This move is a positive step forward for our community, making it easier for residents and businesses to access a wide range of municipal services in one convenient location. From everyday inquiries to planning new projects and investments, Town Hall will serve as a central hub for the services and support our community relies on.” said the Mayor of the Town of Essex.

Staff will begin transitioning to Town Hall during the final week of October, with all Development Services departments operating from their new location effective November 2, 2026.

Beginning November 2, residents and businesses requiring assistance with building permits, planning applications, economic development inquiries or other Development Services matters are asked to visit:
