Town of Essex Announces Arrival of New Fire Truck

The Town of Essex is pleased to announce the arrival of a new fire pumper truck for Essex Fire and Rescue Services, marking a significant investment in the community’s emergency response capabilities.

Approved by Council as part of the 2026 capital projects, the new apparatus was built by Dependable Emergency Vehicles in Brampton, Ontario, at a cost of $1,130,000.

The new unit is a Spartan Metro Star Pumper and features a pump capacity of 2,000 US gallons per minute and a water tank capacity of 1,000 US gallons, providing strong firefighting capability for a wide range of emergency situations.

This addition represents an important investment in public safety for the Town of Essex. A modern, reliable fire apparatus is essential to ensuring firefighters can continue to respond effectively to emergencies and protect residents, businesses, and infrastructure for years to come.

“This new truck significantly enhances our operational capability and ensures our firefighters have the reliable, modern equipment they need to respond safely and effectively. It is a strong investment in the safety of our community.” said Fire Chief Jason Pillon

Over the coming weeks, Essex Fire and Rescue will be training on the new apparatus, as well as installing additional equipment to ensure all tools are properly secured and operational within the vehicle.
