Heritage Plaque Unveiling: Kowtiuk Home

The Town of Essex invites you to attend an unveiling of a new heritage plaque commemorating one of Essex Centre's oldest surviving homes.

The plaque recognizes the historical significance of 78 Fox Street, also known as the Kowtiuk Home, which has played an important role in the community's history for more than 150 years.

The unveiling will take place on the 119th anniversary year of the August 10, 1907 nitroglycerin explosion, an event the home remarkably survived.
