Dino Dig Adventure Now Available at Colchester Beach

The Town of Essex is inviting young dinosaur enthusiasts to dig into a new interactive experience at Colchester Beach with the launch of a dinosaur fossil digging activity.

Perfect for aspiring young paleontologists, the new attraction features a buried dinosaur fossil waiting to be uncovered in the sand at Colchester Beach located at 100 Jackson Street, Colchester.

Visitors can begin their adventure by stopping at the on-site sign, which explains how to safely uncover the fossil while ensuring everyone can enjoy the experience:

• Dig gently with your hands or small sand tools and do not throw sand. 
• Be careful and respectful of the fossil.
• Rebury the fossil when you’re done so others can dig too! 

To locate the fossil, visitors should start at the Dino Dig sign and walk south toward the water.

"This fun, hands-on activity encourages children to explore, imagine, and enjoy one of our beautiful waterfront destinations," said the Mayor of the Town of Essex. "We're excited to offer another family-friendly attraction that makes a day at Colchester Beach even more memorable."
