Campers over the age of 7 must meet the Swim Admission Policy requirements in order to swim independently throughout the facility and use the slide or Tarzan Rope – a swim test will be provided. Campers under the age of 7 or who cannot complete the swim test will be required to stay within arms reach of an assigned counsellor and wear a PFD. Swim time is scheduled daily and there will not be alternate activities for children who choose not to participate in swimming.

If your child requires accommodations, we ask that you talk with the Assistant Manager, Programs prior to enrolment to determine if our camp setting is appropriate. We have trained staff to meet some adaptability needs and have experience with children who require specific activity modifications. If more specific integration needs are required, we will look for options that will hopefully enable positive participation, such as the Town of Essex C.A.R.E. program.

The Town of Essex also partners with Family Respite Services and WindsorEssex Children's Aid Society to allow approved support persons to attend with participants if required. Please contact us for further information.

In most cases, camp groups will participate in the same type of activities but campers will remain in their camp
