The Town of Essex owns and operates a wide range of indoor and outdoor facilities to meet a variety of needs. Many of our facilities can be rented for recreational and special events.

The Town of Essex rents ice pads, pools, sports fields, pavilions and picnic areas. We also offer a wide range of community and meeting rooms to suit a variety of occasions. From small meetings to large gatherings, we can accommodate your social and business needs.

To book an ice pad, ball diamond, soccer field, pavilion or arena meeting room, call Parks and Facilities at 519-776-7336, ext. 1301.
To book a pool, community centre, gymnasium or community meeting room, call Recreation and Culture at 519-776-7336 ext 1052.
As of October 15, 2012, all user groups and individuals must carry liability insurance when renting a Town of Essex facility. If you don’t have liability insurance, the Town of Essex can help.
Town of Essex User Group Insurance Program
All user group members, including executives, managers, coaches, trainers, officials and volunteers, are covered while acting within the scope of their duties on the group’s behalf.
Facility users may purchase liability insurance during the booking process or provide proof of liability insurance that meets the User Group Insurance Program requirements.
How to Provide Proof of Insurance
If a facility user already carries the required liability insurance, proof of insurance naming the Town of Essex as an additional insured must be provided by the user group’s insurance broker using the Town of Essex Certificate of Insurance form.
If a Certificate of Insurance cannot be presented at the time of booking, coverage will automatically be charged. Charges will be refunded once a Certificate of Insurance is submitted.
