Holiday Lights Tour 2023

Presented by the Town of Essex Arts Culture and Tourism (ACT) Committee in partnership with the Essex Centre BIA, the Holiday Lights Tour Contest will challenge residents and business owners from across the Town of Essex to put their best lights forward in this festive celebration. Properties will be available to view on the map so visitors can enjoy a self-guided tour of these outstanding displays.

Be sure to include downtown Essex Centre on your tour and check out the beautiful Essex Streetscape Project. Businesses will be open and decked out for the holidays, so be sure to visit the many shops, restaurants, and services and support local!

Submissions will be accepted from November 23, 2023 to  January 6, 2024.

How to Enter

Please complete the online form to register your property. Town staff will review your submission and add your property to the online interactive map.

Nominations

Event Nomination recognition provided by the Essex Centre BIA with Essex Downtown Dollars.

Grab a cup of hot chocolate and take a tour of the current submissions! Check out the interactive map to plan your route and submit your your vote online.

Nominate your favourite display under one of the following categories:

• Toyland Award – Best use of animation/inflatables for the kids at heart

• Griswold Award - Recognizes the best use of lighting in the town
• Classic Christmas - Recognizes the best use of traditional decor

Nomination Rules

• Property must be located within the municipal boundaries of the Town of Essex.
• Home properties should have front and side yards visible from the roadside. 
• Businesses should have both front and window decorations visible.
• Please include a photo with your submission to assist on those on tour.
• Keep displays lit between 6pm– 9pm until January 6, 2024.
• Entries are to be submitted online.
• No cost to participate.
• Properties decorated by paid decorating professionals are not eligible.
