Essex Town Council has authority to pass by-laws to, among other things, ensure a safe, quiet and peaceful environment for residents.
The Clerk's Office maintains a registry of by-laws and amendments enacted by Council that have wide application. To view a list of by-laws in numeric or alphabetical order, or to search by keyword for something specific, use the By-law Registry located on the Laserfiche WebLink system hosted by the County of Essex.
Note: As a third-party application, Laserfiche WebLink may not be accessible for use with screen viewers. Please contact us to obtain an alternative format.
Our by-law enforcement team is responsible for the investigation and enforcement of some of our municipal by-laws. Other by-laws are enforced by police or other government departments.
If you have questions or concerns related to by-laws or other enforcement issues, contact Town Hall.
The following list contains some of the Town's frequently requested by-laws. The by-law documents provided here are for convenience of reference only and may not contain amendments or attachments.
