Proclamations provide a means for Council to promote public awareness campaigns, charitable fundraising campaigns, and arts and cultural celebrations of significance to the Town of Essex. Proclamations may also acknowledge special honours for individuals and organizations of the Town of Essex in recognition of a special achievement. To ensure that all requests are dealt with consistently, Council's endorsement of proclamations is based on a framework contained in the Proclamation Policy.
The Proclamation Request Form (online form) must be completed and submitted to the Clerk by all persons and organizations requesting that Council pass a proclamation. Draft wording for the proclamation must be submitted by separate email to the Clerk.
The Town of Essex archives digital copies of its agendas dating back to 2005 and minutes dating back to 1999 in the Laserfiche WebLink system hosted by the County of Essex.
