In response to recent updates to the Provincial Government’s Reopening Ontario Act, the Town of Essex is lifting capacity limits and vaccine requirements for all public visitors of Town owned facilities effective March 1, 2022 at 12:01 a.m. Masks continue to be required at all times within Town owned facilities and individuals are encouraged to continue to follow public health guidelines: maintain social distancing, stay home if you are sick, wash your hands, and keep up to date on your COVID-19 vaccinations, including booster doses for those eligible.
As of March 1, 2022 at 12:01 a.m, members of the public visiting Town owned Recreation Facilities, Town Hall, and the Gesto office will no longer need to provide proof of vaccination. Capacity limits will also be lifted at this time. In addition, proof of vaccination will no longer be required for individuals participating in recreational programs.
