Residents of the Town of Essex,
With the new year comes new beginnings, new opportunities, and new experiences. 2023 is already shaping up to be an incredible year here in the Town of Essex, and I cannot wait to see what’s on the horizon! With the new term of Council in place, we are eager to bring fresh ideas to the table and progress the Town forward to ensure that our community is the best it can be. I would like to encourage you to give back to our community in some way, big or small. From cleaning up trash at a local park to shopping local, every gesture helps to strengthen our community and show our pride for the Town of Essex.
The Master Plan will provide both a long-term vision for the Town's park system, and specific policies and standards to direct day-to-day decisions. It will create a framework that will allow the Town to respond to new opportunities as they arise, and ensure that adequate parks, trails, facilities, and programs meet the needs of the Town's existing and future residents and visitors.

Every year, the Town employs local youth in a wide range of positions. Whether they’re assisting the Town’s planning team, maintaining parks and greenspaces, or helping increase local tourism, there’s a position for all interests and educational backgrounds. This year, the Town will continue to work towards strategic priorities and fund capital projects while maintaining fiscal responsibility. The budget will be deliberated upon at a special meeting of Council on February 13, 2023.
