As an organ transplant recipient, Kaidyn has made it his personal mission to get as many people as possible, especially residents of his hometown of Essex, to register as organ and tissue donors.

Kaidyn is a dynamic and passionate speaker who is able to ignite community support, not only through his annual “Kaidyn’s Dream Walk” and green ribbon campaign, but also through supporting other children on the transplant waiting list so they can one day walk in his shoes as a successful transplant recipient.

As a result of his efforts, the number of Essex residents registered as organ donors has increased to 38% from 18% three years ago. Kaidyn hopes to get a full majority of residents registered by the end of the year.

In recognition of Kaidyn’s efforts, Essex Town Council declared April 27, 2014 and every April 27th thereafter as Kaidyn Blair Organ Donation Awareness Day.
