The Town of Essex ACT (Arts, Culture and Tourism) Committee has officially launched the Explore Eat Essex initiative to help support and promote local businesses in the community.
“This year, the ACT Committee recognized the need to pivot away from hosting in-person events, and we are excited to launch this new initiative,” said Tony Paniccia, ACT Committee Chair. “While we may not be able to host gatherings like we’re accustomed to, the Explore Eat Essex passport will encourage residents and visitors to discover some of what our amazing local businesses have to offer.”
Participants can download and print the Explore Eat Essex Passport, which features 15 local businesses, online at www.essex.ca/ExploreEatEssex. From October 1 to November 30, participants can visit five or more of the listed businesses and spend $25 or more at each business then submit their completed passport and receipts to the Town of Essex to be entered into a draw to win a $500 value prize pack including gift cards from participating businesses and Explore Eat Essex wine glasses.
“What a great event for the Town of Essex,” said Justin Gagnon, owner of Olde School Deli & Café in Essex Centre. “We are super excited to be included with all of the amazing restaurants in this great town.”
Completed passports with corresponding receipts can be dropped into ballot boxes at participating businesses or at the drop boxes at the Essex Municipal Building (33 Talbot Street South, Essex Centre) or the Harrow and Colchester South Community Centre (243 McAffee Street, Harrow). Ballots should be submitted in a sealed envelope. A scanned or photographed passport and corresponding receipts (with time and date of purchase) can also be submitted electronically to ExploreEat@essex.ca.
Ballots must be submitted by November 30. There is no limit on the number of ballots that may be entered. All eligible ballots will be entered into a random draw for the $500 value prize pack.
