COLCHESTER SOUTH SEWAGE WORKS EXPANSION
MUNICIPAL CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT

NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATION CENTRE

The Town of Essex is undertaking a Schedule ‘C’ Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) for the expansion of the existing Colchester South sewage works to accommodate ongoing and future development within the community. This study will satisfy Phases 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Class EA process which will involve public and review agency consultation, an evaluation of alternatives, an assessment of the potential environmental effects of the proposed works, and identification of reasonable measures to mitigate any adverse impacts that may result. An Environmental Study Report will be prepared to document the activities and recommendations from the Class EA process.The Town is hosting a second Public Information Centre (PIC) to present the evaluation of alternative design concepts to upgrade the existing Colchester South Sewage Works and expand the original service area. Consultation is an integral part of the EA process and members of the public, agencies, and other interested persons are invited to participate in the upcoming PIC.
