The Essex-Windsor region is undergoing changes to its recycling program beginning January 2026. Circular Materials will implement a new single stream recycling program. All recyclable materials including paper, cardboard, newspaper and catalogues, cartons, plastic containers, metal containers, and glass bottles and jars can be placed together in the new recycling cart. The regular schedule is continuing in January, so you should have your new bin out:
Each household will receive a 360-litre wheeled, lidded recycling cart designed to hold two weeks of recyclables and accommodate a broader range of accepted materials. If you have not received your new recycling bin, please contact 1-844-415-4351 or WErecycling@gflenv.com Circular Materials recommends using your 360-litre recycling cart for at least three bi-weekly collection pickups (i.e., over six weeks) to understand your needs before requesting a smaller size. If this size cart does not meet your needs, you can request an exchange for a smaller sized recycling cart.
**The Town of Essex does not manage the new recycling program** For questions or concerns, please contact 1-844-415-4351 or WErecycling@gflenv.com
For more information, FAQs, and to access the online form, please visit the Circular Materials website.
