Fire Prevention Week is observed each year in October. During this week, the Government of Ontario and municipalities across the province share important fire prevention tips with a particular theme.
This year’s theme, “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety” works to educate everyone about the different sounds the smoke and carbon monoxide alarms make. Knowing what to do when an alarm sounds will keep you and your family safe. When an alarm makes noises – a beeping sound or a chirping sound – you must take action.
To recognize Fire Prevention Week, the Town of Essex will be posting a number of educational posts on social media starting on Monday October 4th and residents will have an opportunity to win Fire Safety Prize Packs.
