Ontario's Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act requires all municipalities to develop and implement an Emergency Management Program. The Town of Essex has implemented an Emergency Management Program that includes the following:
The Town of Essex Emergency Response Plan is updated on a regular basis and outlines the roles and responsibilities of Council and staff in the event of an emergency.
The Essex Alerts Emergency Notification System provides timely notifications to residents during local emergencies. This system enables the Town to provide residents with critical information in a variety of situations, such as unexpected road closures, evacuations of buildings or neighbourhoods.
Once registered, residents will receive time-sensitive messages to their specified devices, such as home, mobile or business phones.
