Climate Ready: Climate Change Adaptation Plan

Climate Ready: A Climate Change Adaptation Plan for the Town of Essex, 2021-2026, was developed throughout 2020 and 2021 in consultation with members of the Essex Climate Adaptation Team as well as Town of Essex administration.

The plan covers the basics of climate change science, discusses local impacts and projections, then outlines action a number of action items in 11 categories. The action items are split into corporate objectives, which will be achieved by Town administration, and community objectives, which are designed to educate and promote climate resilience for citizens and stakeholder groups.

Annual Report

Monitoring progress is vital to the process of climate readiness in the Town. By keeping track of the actions that are being implemented, the Corporation will be able to assess the progress it has made, as well as pave the way forward for future action.
