March Break fun in the Town of Essex

Residents in the Town of Essex can look forward to an eventful March Break with a wide range of programs available for all ages.

  • Kids can look forward to the Sports Mania-themed day camp running throughout March Break. Participants can register for the whole week ($145) or by the day ($32). Camp runs daily from 7:00am to 6:00pm. Financial assistance is available for families who qualify. Call 519-776-8992 or visit www.essexconnect.ca for details.
  • Enjoy a free recreational swim, sponsored by the Healthy Kids Community Challenge, on Thursday, March 14 from 2:30 to 4:00pm at the Essex Recreation Complex. Participants will be entered into a draw for some great prizes! Plus, dive into the regularly scheduled paid swim times happening throughout the week.
  • Check out open gym times at the Essex Community Centre from 12:30 to 3:30pm on Tuesday, March 13 and Thursday, March 15, and from 3:30 to 6:30pm on Wednesday, March 14. Includes access to games and equipment. $3.50/person or $10.50 for a family of five.
  • Join Essex MPP Taras Natyshak for a free family skate at the Essex Centre Sports Complex on Wednesday, March 14 from 2:00 to 4:00pm. Plus, enjoy the regular line up of paid skate and shinny times throughout the week in Essex and Harrow Centres.
  • Celebrate the sweet taste of spring at the John R. Park Homestead’s Maple March Break, happening Tuesday, March 12 and Friday, March 16 starting at 1:30pm. Or, take in the evening Maple Moon program at 7:00pm on Tuesday, March 12, pre-registration required. Full details online at www.erca.org/maple
