Essex Town Council is the main governing and legislative body for the Town of Essex. It consists of the Mayor and six Councillors, one of whom is selected by Council to serve as Deputy Mayor. Councillors are elected to one of four wards (two each in Wards 1 and 3, one each in Wards 2 and 4) and serve a four-year term of office.

Who are the Youth Council Members?
Since 2013, Essex Town Council has included two Youth Council Members. One member is appointed from Wards 1 and 2 and another for Wards 3 and 4. Current Youth Council Members are:

- Wards 3 and 4 - Vacant
