The Town of Essex will be hosting a Family Meal Prep and Cooking Class, just in time for the busy holiday season.
This program is being offered in partnership with the South West Area Recreation Guild, thanks to funding from the Healthy Kids Community Challenge.
Windsor-Essex is one of the 45 communities across Ontario awarded a Provincial grant to promote healthy eating, physical activity, and healthy lifestyle choices for children between the ages of 0 and 12.

Essex– At Monday night’s regular meeting, Town of Essex Councillors welcomed the newest young citizen to their ranks. Ethan Robinson, of Harrow, officially joined Council as the Youth Council Member for Wards 3 and 4 for the 2017-2018 school year.

At Monday night’s budget meeting, Essex Town Council adopted the 2018 budget in principle.
The budget includes $12.9 million in infrastructure projects and upgrades. A combination of reserves, grants, and long-term debt will contribute to fund these projects, along with a two per cent increase in the general mill rate. The new mill rate will mean an annual increase of $28 for an average home valued at $183,000.
