Festivals and Events

The Town of Essex is home to many festivals and special events. At all times of the year there's always so much to do!

Spring begins with the Maple Syrup Festival at John R. Park Homestead in March and ends with Fly a Kite Day and the Colchester Walleye Fishing Derby (both on June 11) and the McGregor Music Festival (June 12).

Summer is chock full of events, starting with the Essex Fun Fest (July 7-10), Explore the Shore (July 23-24), and the Essex County Steam and Gas Engine Show (August 12-14).

For over 160 years, the Harrow Fair (September 1-4), one of the oldest agricultural fairs in Ontario, has closed out the summer. This year the Fair is celebrating its 162nd birthday!

Don't miss the McGregor Mug Run and International Beer Fest (September 24) or the Harvest and Horses Festival (October 2) this fall, or the Essex Train Show next February.
