Door-to-door accessible transportation for persons 55 and over, and people of any age with a disability, is offered in our community by Essex Community Services.
The service operates throughout Essex - including Essex Centre, Harrow, Colchester, Oxley and McGregor. A free Rider Companionship Program is also available.

Park for free in the Town of Essex. Watch for 'P' signs pointing to free parking. On-street parking is plentiful on our main streets and nearby side streets.
Accessible parking spaces are available in key locations for anyone with a valid accessible parking permit.
Parking in residential areas may be limited to one side of the street. Watch for signs that prohibit parking on one side of the street during specific months.
The Town of Essex licences and regulates taxicabs and taxicab drivers for the purposes of consumer protection.
Taxi drivers must provide proof of a valid Class G driver's licence, a Statement of Driving Record from the Ministry of Transportation, and a Criminal Information Report issued by our local police.
Owners of taxicabs must provide proof of ownership, a Safety Standard Certificate, and details on how fares will be calculated.
Licenced taxicabs are required to display a licence plate issued by the Town and drivers are required to display their licence.
If a taxi service fails to maintain and/or renew a current licence, the Town notifies the public by newspaper advertisement and on social media.
